Salem Altar

You can use the direct link http://jakobvogel.net/go/projects/salem to permanently refer to this page.

Originally this applet has been developed for the home page of my former school. Unfortunately the depiction of the altar differs from the real object. The outer pictures should be on the back of the inner wings instead. Please look at this animation as an example of computer graphics hence, not as a historical depiction.

Clicking with the primary mouse button will open or close the altar, the secondary button will cause the animation to pause and resume.

The Altar of Salem has been created by the artist Bernhard Strigel of Memmingen in 1507 and 1508. Today it is on display in the Badisches Landesmuseum in Karlsruhe.
